- Anaerobically-infected leg ulcers and pressure sores Acute dental infections (e.g. acute pericoronitis and acute apical infections)
- Surgical prophylaxis (prevention of postoperative infections due to anaerobic bacteria, particularly species of bacteroides and anaerobic streptococci
- Chronic symptomatic peptic ulcer disease (as an agent)
